In the comfort of your own home, learn how to prep nourishing and delicious dishes, taught by Kyle Thornhill of Tsunami Catering, former executive chef of Mills College and manager of catering for the Oakland Raiders football team.
Who is this for? Everyone in the community!
What’s the cost? $200 for the entire series. Individual classes are $60.
Includes One Bite at a Time Cookbook; Apron, Freezer Bag and Main Ingredients (spices and other common ingredients found in most kitchens will not be supplied).
A supply list will be sent once registration is complete for common ingredients you’ll need to have on hand.
Dishes for each class (Classes are from 5:30-7 p.m.):
- February 3rd – Roasted Chicken with a Seasonal Couscous
- February 17th – Turkey Patties with a Spinach Orzo with Pine Nuts and Feta
- March 3rd – Lemony Chicken with Capers and Kalamata Olives with Mashed Cinnamon Butternut Squash
- March 17th – Grilled Portabella with Mediterranean Lentil Salad

Kyle Thornhill Biography
A native of Napa Valley, CA, Kyle Thornhill trained under great chefs such as Cindy Paulson (chef and cookbook author) at Mustards Grill, Thomas Keller at the French Laundry, and chef Bob Turley at the popular Yountville Grill. Kyle was named Executive Chef for Platt Productions a role in which expanded to events with Robert Mondavi Winery, Sutter Home. Kyle also co-founded and co-operated a kid’s cooking school in Napa Valley. Most recently Kyle held the position of Executive Chef for Mills College and managed catering as for the Oakland Raiders NFL team.
In the fall of 2017 Kyle moved to the Pacific NW to be inspired by the bounty that surrounds us in the Columbia valley, thus Tsunami Catering was established by owners Kyle and Becky Thornhill in 2018 to provide a higher level of food services and education to the Tri-Cities community. We are a full-service catering company providing catering for large and small events, lunch meetings, breakfast service including made-to-order omelette bars, private chef, and food consulting.
Join your Tri-Cities Cancer Cancer Foundation for a cancer crushing food road trip! Try a sample of a cancer crushing dish curbside/drive in style at local eateries and vote for your favorite.
Road Trip to several cancer crushing restaurants around the Tri-Cities for a sample of each restaurants Cancer Crushing dish. A map, instructions and road trip supplies will be provided at the kick off location at the Tri-Cities Cancer Center (7350 W. Deschutes Ave., Kennewick, WA 99336) at 10 AM. At the end of the road trip come back to the Tri-Cities Cancer Center to vote for your favorite dish you tasted. The restaurant with the most votes will be named 2021 Cancer Crushing Restaurant of the Year after all the votes are tallied. Receive a swag bag, cocktails and a cancer-crushing cookbook after you vote!
