
Thursday February 18th, at Noon, several players from the Tri-City Americans will be touring the Tri-Cities Cancer Center as a lead in to the Breast Cancer Awareness Night (Pink Ice) taking place on Friday, February 19th.
Players will be sporting their 2016 Breast Cancer Awareness Night jerseys while they learn how their skills on ice, and support of breast cancer awareness, translate to funds raised to provide support for our community’s Cancer Center.
Friday, February 19th is the 11th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night with the Tri-City Americans! Affectionately known as Pink Ice, the rink will be painted pink and funds raised will benefit the Tri-Cities Cancer Center Foundation and the community we serve. Player worn pink game jerseys will be auctioned off at the game and online, commemorative t-shirts will be available with a donation, silent auction items will be available on the concourse as well as Chuck-a-Puck and giveaways to the first 800 people through the doors. Warrior Sisterhood, a program of the Tri-Cities Cancer Center whose goal is to empower local women with cancer or a cancer related diagnosis, is hosting a luminary at the Breast Cancer Awareness Night game on the 19th. Prior to the puck drop, the rink will be glowing with the decorated bags honoring and remembering those who faced down cancer. Individuals wanting to include their loved ones’ names can purchase a bag at the Tri-Cities Cancer Center Foundation’s office. Cost is $5 a bag and all proceeds benefit Warrior Sisterhood to help Tri-City women fighting cancer. Call 737-3413 for more information.
