Treating Skin Cancer
Skin cancer is a common term for a cancerous (malignant) most often develops on skin exposed to the sun. There are 5 main types of skin cancer:
- Basal and Squamous Cell
- Merkel Cell
- Kaposi Sarcoma Skin Cancer
Treatment options for skin cancer depend on many factors, including the type and stage of the disease, but you can expect a combination of these types of treatments:
Local treatments refer to treatment that treats the tumor without affecting the rest of the body Most cases of skin cancer may be common local treatments in a dermatologist’s office or with outpatient surgery.
Systemic reach cancer cells almost anywhere in the body. They can be given by mouth or put directly into the bloodstream. Depending on the type of skin cancer, different types of treatment might be used, including:
- Targeted therapy for Skin Cancer
- Immunotherapy for Skin Cancer
- Radiation Therapy for Skin Cancer
How quickly do I need to make a decision about skin cancer treatment?
