Lung Screening Program
Our Lung Screening Program is a part of our Thoracic Center of Excellence.
Studies have shown that lung screening programs like ours find tumors early when they are much more likely to be cured. Eligibility Requirements:
- Ages 55 – 77
- Current smoker or quit within the last 15 years
- Equivalent 30 pack-years*
- No history of lung cancer
*pack-years = average number of cigarettes smoked per day multiplied by the number of years a person has smoked.
Each positive finding will be reviewed by a multidisciplinary team of physician specialists through our Thoracic Center of Excellence. Together this team will review images and make recommendations for your follow-up care. A key component of this program is participation in our Tobacco Cessation Class.
To expedite your participation in the lung screening program, please have your family physician provide you with a referral. Your physician can fax your referral to our office at: (509) 736-0958.
